Rolf Disch's Plusenergy House not only makes an important contribution to combating climate change. Ecological design also means well-designed buildings with light-flooded rooms, optimal air quality, warm surfaces – as well as minimal side costs and income from solar electricity.

For entire housing estates, the Plusenergy concept offers even greater opportunities for innovative energy systems, for example via sector coupling of intelligently controlled energy generation, storage and distribution for heat, electricity and mobility. Each project also includes a mobility concept that helps reduce the number of cars with internal combustion engines. The ideal: the settlement without chimney and exhaust!

Rolf Disch attaches particular importance to social aspects of living and to modern forms of living, such as building cooperatives, multi-generation homes or cluster apartments.

The office is currently working on a housing project („Plusenergie-Klimahäuser“) in Schallstadt near Freiburg, a row of four multistorey Plusenergy houses with a total of 55 residential units. The much larger scale cooperative project "Moeckernkiez" in Berlin-Kreuzberg is under construction. Three of its buildings (with a total of approx. 6,800 m² of living space) were planned by Rolf Disch Solar Architecture.
